“…Second, reducing self‐disgust and stigma may be a useful strategy for improving a patient's ability to manage the stoma. Recent experimental work has shown that dispositional mindfulness encourages people to pay more attention to the present moment, which inspires them to redefine the meanings of disaster, life, and the self and establish more trust in their own strength (Kabat‐Zinn, 2003; Xu, Ding, Goh, & An, 2018). However, research on the effective regulation and treatment of self‐disgust and stigma is still in its infancy and there are plentiful opportunities for future work in this field.…”

An individual can achieve meaningfulness after he/she can manage the impact of trauma on his/her psychological condition.…”

“…There is study evidence that dispositional mindfulness moderated the relationship between depression and posttraumatic growth after a traumatic event. Xu et al (2018) have found that for individuals with higher dispositional mindfulness, their depression was associated with more posttraumatic growth, while the individuals with lower dispositional mindfulness showed no such association (Xu, et al,2018). This suggests that individuals high in dispositional mindfulness possess the potential to benefit from the process of adaptive coping in response to depression following a traumatic experience.…”
