[55][56][57][58][59][60][61] Furthermore, the formation of ladder-like oxobridged compounds can be rationalized by phenyl group cleavage, as observed during the reaction between bis(triphenyltin) oxide and carboxylic acids reported by Chandrasekhar et al [62] In this case, it is expected that rearrangement of PhSnCl 3 (start-ing material) gives Ph 2 SnCl 2 and SnCl 4 . The former rearrangement product may be hydrolysed to form Ph 2 SnO and the latter treated with H 3 L to form a chloro derivative, which further hydrolyses to form a μ-oxo-bridged dimer.…”
