Lam., in the South Pacific, the Caribbean, and some parts of Central and South America (Chalfant et al, 1990;Jansson and Raman, 1991;Raman and Alleyne, 1991;Sherman and Tamashiro, 1954;Yasuda, 1993;Yasuda and Kohama, 1990). This weevil is considered to have been accidentally introduced into Okinawa from Hawaii or Saipan (Kohama, 1990;Takara, 1954) and is now distributed throughout the Ryukyu Islands (Okinawa Prefecture) and the Amami Islands (Kagoshima Prefecture) (Yasuda and Kohama, 1990;Moriya, 1997).…”
