Disturbed Cell Proliferation and Apoptosisin Patientswith Chronic Periodontitis Againstthe Background of Gastroesophageal Reflux D

Abstract: This study aimed to examine the indicators of gum epithelial cell proliferation in patients with chronic periodontitis against gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The clinical, endoscopic, immunohistological and morphological studies revealed that diseases affecting the esophagus facilitate the development and the progression of periodontal issues. Enhanced apoptosis due to insufficient proliferation of periodontal tissues contributes to the progression of inflammatory and destructive changes in the tissue… Show more

“…The Ki-67 protein is a regulatory protein found in a mitotic cell. The determination of the Ki-67 protein content is used to assess the intensity of cell renewal, while its correlation with apoptosis makes it possible to elucidate the mechanisms of regeneration in inflammatory periodontal diseases [9].…”

“…Modern studies [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] reveal that the general pathomorphological pattern that determines the course and prognosis of any chronic process, including periodont inflammatory diseases, is due to the intensity of cell renewal processes, which can be employed both for early diagnosis of the disease, and to for developing its forecast. The involvement of mast cells in inflammation regulation and tissues proliferation explains the increased interest that researchers take in studying their role in periodont inflammatory diseases [10][11][12][13][14][15][16].…”
