Diversity and characterization of lactic acid bacteria from Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) intestine in winter (Northern Kazakhstan)

Abstract: Currently, in Kazakhstan, chemical agents and antibiotics are widely used for treatment and prevention of fish diseases at fish farms. The use of probiotics as an alternative to antibiotics can help reduce the spread of antibiotic resistance in this area. The aim of the present study was to isolate the intestinal lactic acid bacteria of wintering carps. We assume that such bacteria can have more adaptive properties and can be used as probiotics for growing carp juveniles at fish farms. A probiotic characterist… Show more

“…The analysis of the table shows that the basis of roach nutrition in the Tobol River is food of plant origin. As previously stated, the development of zooplankton and zoobenthos in the river is low, and given the presence of a significant number of competitors in this spectrum, it is natural that this species, having a relative unpretentiousness in nutrition, will choose the most available food, in our case it is aquatic vegetation [25][26][27]. Thus, in the roach of size groups from 6 to 14 cm, the share of food of animal origin does not exceed 21.5%, in the size group 19-22 cm this figure increases to 39.3%.…”

“…The disease affects mainly fish belonging to the carp family: tench, bream, roach, roach, taran, redfin, crucian carp, goose, gustard, bleak, and some others. The disease affects fish more often in shallow bodies of water with a slow current, and less often in rivers with a fast current (Maira et al, 2020). The shallow depths of rivers and lakes, slow currents, and extensive aquatic vegetation contribute to the intensity of infestation.…”

“…The water pollution index values are differentiated in 6 classes in conjugation with biological discretors. The use of saprobity index or saprobotoxobity index in assessments is determined by the nature of the reservoir contamination: the presence of toxicants of inorganic nature [26,27].…”
