Diversity of Soil Macrofauna at Different Stages of the Age of Sengon’s Stand in Jatirejo, Kediri

Abstract: Soil fauna have important roles on increasing and maintaining soil productivity through it's function on organic decomposition processes, and optimizing physics, chemist and biology of soil characters. The research was conducted to investigate structure of the community of soil macrofauna from different stages of the age of sengon's (Paraserianthes falcataria) stand in wet season of year 2000. Pit fall trap and hand-shorting methods were used to catch soil macrofauna. Sampling was done on 8 different age stage… Show more

“…It is in accordance with the results of research conducted by Sugiyarto (2000) regarding the diversity of soil macrofauna at various age of sengon stands at Forest Police Resort (RPH) Jatirejo, Kediri. It shows the same thing that there is a positive correlation between the relative air humidity with soil macrofauna.…”

“…There is a relationship between macrofauna, soil organic matter, soil physical properties, plant growth, and soil erosion [19]. Existence soil organic matter and under vegetation cover can generate better microhabitat condition to support the life of various soil organisms, including macrofauna [20].…”
