The Busoni International Piano Competition was first held in 1949 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the death of composer Ferruccio Busoni. The aim of the competition is to create a forum for Busoni's music as well as for promising young pianists. Foundation Busoni International Piano Competition Subjects: Piano performance. Purpose: To award excellence in piano performance. Eligibility: Open to pianists of any nationality between 16 and 30 years of age. Level of Study: Unrestricted Type: Prize Value: The 1st prize is h22,000, the 2nd prize is h10,000, the 3rd prize is h5,000, the 4th prize is h4,000, the 5th prize is h3,000 and the 6th prize is h2,500. There are also other special prizes.
