“…A recent study using 12 divergent thinking tests and 12 reasoning tasks, half of each under time restrictions, also found that timed versus untimed test‐taking played a minor role in influencing the results of divergent thinking and intelligence (Preckel, Wermer, & Spinath, ). Another study found an effect of time effect on creativity scores, but revealed that the rate of divergent production was essentially the same in the first, second, and third time interval of 2.5 minutes (Morse, Morse, & Johns, ). So our time limit of 2 minutes should be sufficient for the production of meaningful ideas for comparison purposes.…”
