BackgroundViolence and other adversities commonly co-occur, yet are usually investigated individually. The primary objectives of this paper are to investigate: (i) the relationship between maternal exposure to violence (including childhood abuse and intimate partner violence) and postpartum mental and physical health; and (ii) the extent to which exposure to violence and poor maternal mental and physical health are associated with children's emotional-behavioral difficulties.MethodsProspective pregnancy cohort (n = 1507) followed up to 4 year postpartum. Validated measures used: Composite Abuse Scale; Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, SF-36, Child Maltreatment History Self Report; Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. Logistic regression was used to investigate associations between maternal childhood abuse, intimate partner violence (IPV), maternal health and child emotional and behavioral difficulties at age 4.OutcomesTwo out of five women (41%) reported abuse in childhood, and almost one in three (29%) reported IPV during the first four years of motherhood. Women reporting both physical and sexual childhood abuse had markedly raised odds of IPV and poor physical and mental health at all time points (pregnancy, first year postpartum and four year postpartum). For the index child, violence exposures (maternal childhood abuse or IPV) and poor maternal physical or mental health were associated with higher odds of emotional/behavioral difficulties at age four. In multivariable models (adjusted for child gender and maternal age), cumulative exposures (multiple violence exposures or poor maternal mental or physical health at multiple time points) each independently added to increased odds of emotional-behavioral difficulties. Children of mothers who reported a history of childhood abuse but were not exposed to IPV had odds of difficulties similar to children of mothers not reporting any violence exposure, suggesting resilient outcomes where violence experiences are not repeated in the next generation.InterpretationThe clustering of risk (child and adult violence experiences) and the accumulation of risk within families (IPV, poor maternal health, child difficulties) highlight the need for effective early intervention to limit or ameliorate the impact of violence across the lifespan, and to break the intergenerational cycle of disadvantage.

Kajian ekonomi rumahtangga petani meliputi pembahasan tentang rumahtangga petani dari aspek produksi dan konsumsi yang dilakukan secara simultan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi petani dalam produksi, alokasi waktu kerja, pendapatan dan pengeluaran rumahtangga. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey untuk mendapatkan gambaran prilaku rumahtangga petani padi sawah. Metode penarikan sampel adalah metode multi stage random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 rumahtangga petani padi sawah. Jenis data yang dikumpulkan adalah data cross section tahun 2021. Analisis data penelitian ini adalah analisis ekonometrika persamaan simultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi padi sawah signifikan dipengaruhi oleh luas lahan dan jumlah benih dan penggunaan tenaga kerja luar keluarga. Alokasi waktu kerja dalam usahatani dipengaruhi oleh biaya tenaga kerja dalam usahatani dan upah luar usahatani. Alokasi waktu kerja luar usahatani dipengaruhi oleh alokasi waktu kerja dalam usahatani dan angkatan kerja rumahtangga petani. Penggunaan tenaga kerja luar keluarga petani signifikan dipengaruhi oleh luas tanam padi sawah dan investasi usahatani. Pendapatan luar usahatani signifikan dipengaruhi oleh alokasi waktu kerja luar usahatani dan pendidikan petani dan upah usahatani. Pengeluaran pangan, sandang, pendidikan, kesehatan dan rekreasi signifikan dipengaruhi oleh pendapatan rumahtangga dan tabungan. Background Parental alienation is a relatively newly described disorder, with a growing prevalence, as divorce and custody battles are becoming more and more complex with increased difficulty of joint custody. In parental alienation, one parent, the alienating parent, forms an alliance with the child involved in the custody dispute and manages to effectively alienate the targeted parent completely. The child and the alienating parent manifest a form of folie à deux and, hence, are in complete synchrony in the hatred and denigration of the targeted parent. Issues, such as potentially false allegations of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse of the child by the targeted parent, arise. The child and the alienating parent become mutually convinced of the targeted parent’s transgressions. Consequently, it becomes difficult for the courts and psychiatric professionals to differentiate true abuse from parental alienation. Case presentation In this case study, we aimed to conduct an in-depth psychological and psychiatric evaluation of a Lebanese family (white race) where a father was wrongly accused by the mother and his 11-year-old white boy of both physical and sexual abuse. The data for this study were collected through unstructured and semi-structured interviews, observations, and psychological tests (Rorschach test for the parents and Blacky test for the child), and through the analysis of documented evidence presented in the trial. Conclusion This case manifested most criteria set forth for the diagnosis of parental alienation and created serious doubt regarding the validity of the allegations set forth by the mother and the child. Uncovered parental alienation often misleads mental health professionals at the expense of the child’s mental health .
