Abstract

Beginning from 19th century, as a result of industrialization, while leisure times of humans were gradually increasing, urban life becoming widespread in the same period and slowly detracted people from the nature and today, people mostly interested in nature based activities in their leisure time. As a result of this, nature-based activities have become an important part of tourism. Identifying the participation motivation of people in nature based activities and determining general characteristics of the participants are seen as an important determinants of satisfaction and marketing activities. In this context, build up a profile of participations and determine of the participation motivation of the individuals participating in hiking in BeyĢehir and its environment. As a result, it was seen that well-educated, middle income, and middle aged individuals generally participated in nature walking with the motivations such as integration with nature and interest in nature.
