The optical properties of thin FePc films have been investigated using spectrophotometric measurements of transmittance and reflectance in the wavelength range 200-210 nm. The refractive index n as well as the absorption index. k were calculated before and after annealing. It is abvious that the refractive index showed an anomalous dispersion in the absorption region as well as normal dispersion in the transparent region. The analysis of the spectral behaviour of the absorption coefficient, a in the absorption region revlealed direct transition. The analysis of a as well as the dielectric constants (E} and E 2 ), reveals several absorption peaks at photon energies given in the following table for films before and after annealing. Table: Absorption peak..~ existing in FePc thin films before and after annealing. Visible (Q) Sorel (B) Variable (N) (M) FePc(asdeposiled) 1.77 ± 0.11.95±0.05 2.40±O.23.6±O.2 4.45±O.5 5.90±0.4 FePc(as annealing) 1.76 ± 0.1 1.97±O.1 2.42±OJ 3.7±O.3 4.35±O.2 5.77±0.4These transitions are interpreted in the text. The fundamental and the onsel energy gaps can also be estimated as 2.63±O,02 and 1.38±O.02 eV respectively.
