“…To evaluate the rate of aeolian sand transport, nine Modified Wilson and Cook (MWAC) vertical sand traps were exposed to the sand-laden wind (Figure 3A). They have been employed extensively in a number of studies ( e.g ., Strypsteen, 2019; Strypsteen et al ., 2020; Strypsteen, van Rijn, and Rauwoens, 2021), with efficiencies ranging from 42% to 120% ( e.g ., Goossens and Offer, 2000; Poortinga et al ., 2013; Sterk and Raats, 1996; Van Pelt, Peters, and Visser, 2009; Youssef et al ., 2008).
