Dual-Band EBG Sectoral Antenna Using a Single-Layer FSS for UMTS Application

Abstract: In this letter, we present a novel approach to design a novel dual-band sectoral antenna by combining metallic electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) materials as a superstrate with a frequency-selective surface (FSS) as a substrate, thus making it possible to circumvent the narrow bandwidth problem.
