Dynamic and Static Load Tests on a Large-span Rigid-frame Bridge

Abstract: Dynamic and static load (DSL) tests provide an important tool for safety inspection of bridge structure. The test results reflect the actual working condition, bearing capacity and working performance of the bridge structure, laying a scientific basis for the operation safety of the bridge. This paper carries out the DSL tests on a rigid-frame bridge, details the loading plans and test process, and analyzes the stress state under static loads and the dynamic properties under dynamic loads. The results show tha… Show more

“…It further details the relationship of compressive and tension members, that is, the measurement from the top and bottom chord. Dissimilar characteristics of the model versus measurement approach and anomalous validation coefficients [48] disclose a poor connection between structural members and lower structural stiffness, prompting extensive evaluation [6,48]. The mean of the measured results is presented in Table 3 with their respective residuals and validation coefficients.…”

“…The dynamics of each variable behavior was observed in this research using a model of a dynamic system [19][20][21]. Dynamic system models can be expressed using differential equations.…”

“…[1]. One common assessment method for existing bridges is load testing [2], [3], and static load testing is an effective method for assessing the performance of bridges, understanding the actual operational conditions of the bridge, and identifying existing issues promptly to improve and optimize bridge quality [4], [5]. Load testing also serves as a crucial starting point for monitoring operations.…”
