Dynamic DEA with network structure: A slacks-based measure approach

Abstract: Abstract:We propose a dynamic DEA model involving network structure in each period within the framework of a slacks-based measure approach. We have previously published the network SBM (NSBM) and the dynamic SBM (DSBM) models separately. Hence, this article is a composite of these two models. Vertically, we deal with multiple divisions connected by links of network structure within each period and, horizontally, we combine the network structure by means of carry-over activities between two succeeding periods. … Show more

“…The traditional DEA model is unable to accurately capture the efficiency of OSS projects with such complex processes. This is because the model regards the process between input and output as a black box [10]. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the expanded DEA model to take into account the internal processing mechanism of OSS projects.…”

“…To evaluate the original performance of the provincial low-carbon economy, this paper uses the dynamic Malmquist index [49] to calculate the TFP considering the intertemporal effect [50] of physical capital. The evaluation by Malmquist proposed a best-practice frontier and decomposed the performance into different efficiencies that represent the technology efficiency changes (TEC) and the technical changes (TC) [51].…”

“…For the first time, Färe and Grosskopf [12] proposed dynamic DEA model. Tone and Tsutsui [13] combined network DEA in a dynamic context and proposed a network dynamic DEA model based on slacks-based measure (SBM) approach. They named each period and each division efficiencies as "term" and "divisional" efficiencies, respectively.…”
