Dynamic Fuzzy Logic Elevator Group Control System for Energy Optimization

Abstract: High-rise buildings with a considerable number of elevators represent a major logistic problem concerning saving space and time due to economic reasons. For this reason, complex Elevator Group Control Systems are developed in order to manage the elevators properly. Furthermore, the subject of energy is acquiring more and more industrial relevance every day as far as sustainable development is concerned. In this paper, the first entirely dynamic Fuzzy Logic Elevator Group Control System to dispatch landing call… Show more

“…Inter-floor happens when passengers randomly move between floors during the daytime and there is no peak traffic at this time. Our nonhomogeneous traffic includes up-peak (8:00-9:00), downpeak (17:00-18:00), up/down-peak (12:00-13:00), and interfloor patterns as is done in previous studies [9,47,54,55]. The arrival rate for the up-peak and down-peak is set to 30 passengers/minute and 15 passengers/minute, respectively.…”

“…Technology has evolved, and new hoist elevator models allow a portion of the energy that the elevator employed while moving up to be regained. However, only a few studies [11]- [13] have incorporated this regain of energy in their research. Others have attempted to reduce energy consumption by modifying the speed of the elevators [14].…”
