“…However, a self-consistent numerical simulation of a nonideal multicomponent plasma in non-equilibrium is highly challenging due to the drastic differences in the time scales of the plasma constituents: electrons, positively charged ions, neutral atoms and negatively charged 'dust' grains of micrometer size. Utilizing the dynamical screening approach (DSA) this multiscale problem can, however, be effectively reduced by an approximate (statistical) description of the lighter plasma constituents by means of effective grain potentials [16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23] (see reviews [24,25] for more complete lists).
