Dynamics of Adsorption of Copper Ions in Fixed-Bed Column and Mathematical Interpretation of the First Stage of the Process

Abstract: The dynamics of the adsorption process in the fixed-bed column was experimentally studied on the example of the system natural zeolite - water solution of copper salt with low concentrations, which are characteristic for wastewater treatment processes from toxic contaminants. The initial curves of the adsorption process for the height of the sorbent layer of 5 and 7 cm were constructed. The equilibrium of such processes can be described by Henry's linear equation. The adsorption process in the layer consists o… Show more

“…Example 1. The use of information technology is vital for creating a competent process for thoroughly assessing a person and providing recommendations on the format of their education (Gumnitsky et al, 2022). The results of the impulse modeling presented in Figure 4 confirm that introducing such information technologies will contribute to the most effective improvement of administrative procedures in educational institutions.…”

“…Among these sorbents are activated carbon, 4 magnetically susceptible carbon sorbents, 5 mesoporous silica nanoparticles, 6 anionite, 7 and natural minerals. 8,9 Adsorbents based on natural minerals have become the center of research in this area due to their advantages, such as non-toxicity, availability, and low cost. In addition to copper, they are used to purify aqueous solutions from chromium, 10 zinc, and nickel ions 11 and several other contaminants.…”

“…9 The basic fundamental of this technology involves the mass transfer process in which the dissolved substance is emigrated from the bulk of fluid to the surface of the adsorbent by means of chemical and/or physical interaction. 10,11 It has been recognized that the type of adsorbent plays a crucial role in the adsorption process. Numerous studies suggest various adsorbents, including organic adsorbents, inorganic adsorbents, and agricultural wastages such as activated carbon, 12 silica gel, 13 and dates pits.…”
