Abstract:The dynamics of ``web'' growth have been investigated, with particular emphasis on the meniscus. The meniscus deflections have been expressed as a function of surface tension, and pulling force. An effort is being made to describe the parameters which influence surface tension, and its reflection on the process of web growth, and the properties of the material. The degree of supercooling, crucible design, and the control of thermal gradients have profound effects on the quality of the crystal and its physical … Show more
Dislocation-free silicon web crystals have been grown reproducibly in the thickness range of 15 to 45 μ and approximately 4 to 8 mm wide. Phosphorus, arsenic, and boron were used as dopants to achieve controlled resistivities from 0.05 to 20 Ω-cm.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
