E-health-IoT Universe: A Review

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) devices are able to collect and share data directly with other devices through the cloud environment, providing a huge amount of information to be gathered, stored and analyzed for data-analytics processes. The scenarios in which the IoT devices may be useful are amazing varying, from automotive, to industrial automation or remote monitoring of domestic environment. Furthermore, has been proved that healthcare applications represent an important field of interest for IoT devices, d… Show more

“…Results show that the relationships between ECG features and model parameters present a non-linear trend and that the fitting neural networks can generalize them with an acceptable error. Considering the enormous spread of IoT devices [38], this type of system, as well as other complex systems useful for health care [39], will necessarily have to be integrated into low energy consumption portable embedded devices [40]-42] which will allow monitoring the quality of patients' health more efficiently.…”

“…The IoT devices, as said, are able to collect and share data directly with other devices through the cloud environment, providing a huge amount of information to be gathered, stored and analysed for dataanalytics processes. It has been proved that HealthCare applications represent an important field of interest for IoT devices, due to the capability of improving the access to care, reducing the cost of HealthCare and most importantly increasing the quality of life of the patients [19]. All the above-mentioned complex systems, often require complex algorithm execution that could be optimised by using distributed systems [20]- [22] or other complex techniques [23]- [26].…”

“…More recently, automatic decision-making support systems [41], [42], [43], [44], [45], [46], [47] have experimented a rapid development. In this environment, the Blockchain represents a useful instrument to record the activities and decisions by performing the proof-of-work required for adding a confirmed block to the chain.…”
