E113 Examination of cooling performance of a cryoprobe for a guide in cryosurgery

Abstract

The objective of the present stUdy was to obtain important 血formation for freez 血 g a target tumor down to a given temperature in cryosurgery using 血 e latest 1． 5 一 dia cryoprobe ， Needle 1 for CryoHitTM system ． To this end ， freezing experiments were conducted with a tissue phantom made of O ． 9 ％ NaCl aqueous solution gel ． The result suggestOd that an 8− mm marg 血 at the periphery of the ice bal1 is needed for − 40 °C irrespective of the operating gas pressure ． It was also demonstrated that the numerical analysis agreed well with the measurement ， which hldicates the use 血 lness of numerical simulation for predicting temperatures ． Key iVords ：Freezing ， Clyosurgery ， Cryoprobe ， Tissue Phantom ， Numerical A 皿 alysis
