“…IG in barley usually is not detectable by visual inspection, pearling, or staining with fluorescein dibutyrate (Heisel et al 2004;Schwarz et al 2004), but it can be assessed by starch gel viscosity following a prescribed heating and stirring sequence with a Rapid Visco Analyzer (RVA, Perten Instruments, Hägersten, Sweden) (Bason et al 1993;Bueckert et al 2007;Izydorczyk 2009;Perten Instruments 2013).
