“…Caregivers are usually alone in their journey to discover what CP entails, mainly due to the lack of specialized centres in paediatric rehabilitation in Turkey and the lack of structured referral networks that would refer these caregivers to these centres, as stated previously. Today, it is a well‐known fact that early intervention programmes are crucial for patients' treatment success, and these programmes can also help the caregivers in adjusting their perspectives about CP (Damiano & Longo, 2021), but after the initial shock, an adaptation process occurs helping the parents come to terms with the diagnosis. Although this process increases the amount of stress caregivers endure, it is positively affected by the self‐esteem, self‐mastery, positive attitude and support from professional services, which makes informing the caregivers crucial in these early stages (Rentinck et al, 2007).…”
