Ecological-climatic characteristics of the flora of a floodplain landscape in Southeastern Europe

Abstract: Floodplain ecosystems take on the role of active areas of biodiversity and provide many “ecosystem services”, as evidenced by a number of European scientific references. A biodiversity analysis of river floodplains in six European countries within the temperate zone has shown that the floodplains are habitats with a high-level of structural and functional dynamics. The level of their conservation reflects the floristic diversity of forest territories, which is especially important for subarid areas. Recently, … Show more

“…Global warming affects plant and animal communities across all climatic zones (Burda and Koniakin, 2019;Baranovski et al, 2020). Insect species with southern ranges move northward, where they find themselves in unsuitable climatic conditions at certain stages of their ontogenesis, although the average annual temperatures do not necessarily differ from those of their original range (Avtaeva et al, 2019;2021).…”

“…The research was carried out in 12 ecosystems in the Mahdalinovka district, Novomoskovsk district, Pavlograd district and Sinelnikovo district of Dnipropetrovsk Region (Ukraine) (Table 1). Detailed descriptions of the conditions of the study areas are given in articles of some authors (Gritsan et al, 2019;Baranovski et al, 2020Baranovski et al, , 2021Gorban et al, 2021). The invertebrate fauna of these territories was also described earlier (Komlyk & Brygadyrenko, 2019b;Puchkov et al, 2020;Kunakh et al, 2021) A brief description of the studied habitats is given in Table 1.…”
