The development of modern construction requires the use of environmentally friendly building materials, including insulating materials, to ensure the energy efficiency of buildings and structures. The purpose of the work is relevant and was to develop a methodology for assessing the compliance of extruded polystyrene foam with environmental requirements. The problem is that the certification of such materials includes an examination of their physical and mechanical properties and does not allow assessment of materials’ environmental aspects. A comprehensive approach to assessing the quality of extruded polystyrene foam is proposed, which ensures not only the technical level of material quality, but also compliance with environmental requirements. The research methodology is based on the environmental risks’ identification at all stages of production and the determination of products environmental safety criteria. Each criterion is characterized by a set of indicators, among which a representative indicator is determined. A complex indicator is proposed for assessing the environmental safety of the production of extruded foamed polystyrene. The novelty of the work lies in the algorithm for calculating the material environmental friendliness complex criterion. The process model of the extruded polystyrene foam production analyses made it possible to establish representative indicators according to the products’ environmental safety criteria. As a result of the analysis, critical operations were identified where environmental risks are likely, and representative indicators’ limit values were set in accordance with regulatory documentation. Measures have been developed to minimize the release of harmful substances during each critical operation. To improve environmental management, the system for monitoring and assessing risks in the production of extruded foamed polystyrene has been optimized. As a result, a methodology has been developed for assessing the compliance of the production of extruded polystyrene foam with environmental requirements, which is necessary for product quality certification. The article discusses the environmental safety of construction production from eco-concrete. The purpose of the work is to assess the environmental hazard of building materials (for example, eco-concrete), in the production of which production and consumption wastes are used. In the process of research, the following tasks were solved: the chemical composition of eco-concrete samples was analyzed; a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the exhalation of potential chemical contaminants from concrete was given; the possible risk to human health from the emission of pollutants was assessed. The object of the study was eco-concrete. The tasks are solved by methods of searching for information on the issues under consideration within the framework of an analytical review with subsequent discussion and conclusions. It is known that in recent years, environmental impact review has become more demanding in assessing and permitting construction due to adverse experiences with adverse environmental impacts. As a result, general information was obtained about modern trends in the field of ecological construction.

Introduction. The article addresses the problem of irrational treatment of solid municipal, production and consumption waste in Russia, as well as the prospects of using secondary raw materials in the construction of buildings. The research is focused on environmental standards, environmental certification systems in the construction industry, as well as recycled materials. The study encompasses the construction of buildings using recycled materials, taking into account the requirements set in environmental standards. Materials and methods. The article presents several types of secondary raw materials and an overview of sustainable approaches to the construction of buildings using recycled materials in Russia and abroad. Most widely spread construction technologies, used to build houses using secondary raw materials, are described. An environmentally friendly facility constructed in Russia using secondary raw materials is described as an illustration. Results. The state of the Russian legislative framework governing the treatment of solid municipal, construction, and consumption waste and the requirements of international and Russian environmental standards applicable to buildings are analyzed. The percent ratio of waste management actions is determined in relation to other requirements set by environmental certification systems applicable to real estate items. Conclusions. A new classification of construction products made of secondary raw materials is presented. Conclusions are made about the feasibility of reusing solid household, industrial and consumption waste in the construction industry. The need to revise environmental standards in Russia is identified. The Russian environmental standards should have a larger number of criteria determining the rational treatment of solid municipal, construction, and consumption waste as well as the use of products made of secondary raw materials.
