“…In terms of chemical recycling, it might be interesting to make use of the step-wise decomposition of PVC by directly valorizing the released HCl and benzene prior to pyrolysis of the remaining polymer. For this, the HCl can be washed from the gaseous hydrocarbon stream using an aqueous NaOH solution, or a solvent can be used that captures the HCl from the gas stream [70][71][72].
