This chapter begins with a broad survey of the use of life themes in career intervention, followed by a discussion of the development and theoretical underpinnings of the Career Construction Interview (CCI). I then briefly describe the following basic aspects of a career intervention: how the CCI can be administered, either alone or in conjunction with other assessment instruments; the method of administration (in terms of a qualitative, interpretive paradigm) and the case study design (working with a participant in a one-on-one research setting); the materials used, namely the CCI and various other assessment instruments; and the population. I end the chapter with a case study.
