This scoping review of the international literature published over the last 50 years in educational leadership and management journals provides a thematic exploration of factors influencing pathways at the pre-entry stage of a principal’s career. Findings from a thematic analysis of 68 publications show that attention to prospective principals increased after the year 2000 and this was driven by four main concerns: underrepresentation of women and ethnic minorities, principal supply and demand, the principalship as a school improvement lever, and the expansion of leadership posts in schools. Selected articles addressed three dimensions of the pathways before a person is first appointed to this post: (a) micro (individual’s agency), (b) meso (preparation of prospective principals), and (c) macro (policies shaping access to the post). Across time and countries, pathways to the principalship are resourced by individuals’ professional orientations and by contextual factors, formal pre-service preparation may be desirable but not always available or required, and policies frame a conceptualisation of the principalship that shapes the two previous dimensions. The internationalization of research on pathways to the principalship has brought to the forefront normative assumptions that should be critically challenged when considering how to recruit, develop, and support prospective school principals.

Self-efficacy-based change in educational administration style and public management model

At present, the public management model is relatively backward, and the way of education administration needs urgent change. This paper explores the characteristics of the higher education administrative body operation mode in different periods and analyzes and summarizes the problems of the current educational administrative style. In response to these problems, an educational administrative management style based on self-efficacy is proposed, and the mathematical expression of three characteristic dimensions of self-efficacy is established through the modeling study of the factors influencing self-efficacy. The impact of characteristic self-efficacy dimensions on the efficiency and fairness of educational administration was analyzed as a strategy to propose management model changes. The impact factors of self-efficacy magnitude on input-output efficiency reached 0.43, self-efficacy breadth on problem-solving efficiency reached 0.40, and self-efficacy intensity on planning goal completion efficiency reached 0.27. The impact factors of the three characteristic dimensions of self-efficacy on educational equity reached 0.31, 0.35, and 0.34. This study provides an effective reference path for educational administration. This study provides an effective reference path for optimizing educational administration and helps promote the scientific construction of the public management model.

Study on the application of BOPPPS teaching model based on multi-objective planning in the educational management of second class students

This paper first analyzes the definition and characteristics of education management for second-class students. Secondly, we construct the BOPPPS teaching model of multi-objective planning based on the algorithm theory of traditional static multi-objective planning algorithm, dynamic multi-objective planning algorithm and performance index of DMOP algorithm. Finally, an empirical analysis of the BOPPPS instructional model in the educational management of second-classroom students was conducted using some students and teachers of Eleventh Middle School. The results showed that most teachers felt that the BOPPPS teaching model was very good, 95.35% were satisfied with the teaching effect, and 98.21% of the secondary teachers were willing to use the BOPPPS teaching model in their future teaching process. Based on this study, it has been concluded that the BOPPPS teaching mode can encourage students' interest in learning.
