Notably, the use of open-ended questions achieved with the adapted training was more pronounced than that of later training initiatives in Chile evaluated with mock interviews (Pérez et al, 2022; Pietrasanta et al, 2022) and considerably superior to that of many field evaluations in non-English-Speaking countries (e.g., Cederborg et al, 2013; Rischke et al, 2011; Yi et al, 2016). We did not analyze changes in the use of certain specific prompts that have been deemed appropriate questions in some evaluations (e.g., Wh- questions; Lamb et al, 2002) because the adapted training did not teach the use of specific question types.…”

“…1 The professionals are trained to learn both roles, that of investigative interviewer and that of intermediary, in the same initial program, which is known as the Initial Course of Specialized Training (or CIFE, which is its acronym in Spanish). This has proved to be effective with professionals from the Prosecutor's Office ) and from the police forces (Pérez et al 2022). It consists of a 4-week (20-day) theoretical and practical faceto-face course, and has recently also been made available in an online version designed during the COVID-19 pandemic (Fundación Amparo y Justicia 2022).…”
