This study evaluates the impact of the professional career construction model (CCP) on the professional practice of counselors and the social sustainability actions put into play in their professional performance. A mixed methodology featuring a predominantly qualitative approach is used to examine the employment situation and professional development of this group. Forty-eight socio-labor counselors from the autonomous community of Andalusia (Spain) participated in the self-application of the CCP model. Subsequently, a questionnaire was administered via a discussion group. The data analysis combines descriptive and qualitative procedures with the support of computer software. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis and triangulation techniques are used as methodological integration strategies. The resulting data are discussed, later presenting a series of limitations and prospective of the study. Relevant conclusions are provided about the impact of the CCP model on the professional careers of counselors based on their satisfaction with the self-application of the model, their career progression and employment status, and their self-perceptions of the social impact of their counseling careers. These conclusions highlight the implications of the study regarding promoting the sustainable careers of socio-labor counselors, enhancing their initial and continuous training, and facilitating their occupational actions in a complex and constantly changing society.

La orientación vocacional ha evolucionado hacia el concepto de orientación socioocupacional, siendo poco explorada su relación con la educación rural. Para comprender esa relación, se realizó un análisis documental y otro, de contenido de políticas públicas, los cuales revelaron que tanto la orientación socioocupacional como el papel del orientador escolar en el proceso son vitales en los proyectos de vida de los jóvenes rurales. Este artículo de reflexión se centra en hacer una aproximación a las funciones que el orientador escolar, desde el liderazgo del proceso, debería desarrollar en los proyectos de orientación socioocupacional rurales; en el acompañamiento a los diferentes actores educativos; en la asesoría a los padres y estudiantes; y en la articulación de las acciones propuestas por la comunidad educativa. Estas primeras conclusiones abren el campo de investigación de la orientación escolar en la educación rural; sin embargo, futuras indagaciones deben apuntar a conocer la percepción de los orientadores de contextos rurales y su rol en la gestión educativa.

Objective: The main objectives of this research are to identify effective branding strategies, understand the impact of implementing Islamic boarding school-based branding on the university's reputation, and explore the role of Islamic boarding school values in building a positive image of the institution. Method: The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Results: The research results show that integrating Islamic boarding school values in the curriculum, using social media for promotion, and collaborating with alums and Islamic boarding school figures are effective branding strategies in improving the university's reputation. Implementing these strategies has succeeded in increasing the attractiveness of Qomaruddin Gresik University in the eyes of prospective students and the wider community and strengthening alum loyalty. This research also found that Islamic boarding school-based branding can provide a strong and unique identity for the university, differentiating it from other Islamic universities. Novelty: This research emphasizes a holistic approach to optimizing Islamic boarding school-based branding, focusing not only on promotional aspects but also on integrating Islamic boarding school values in all aspects of university operations.
