Effect of Black Garlic Extract on Blood Glucose, Lipid Profile, and SGPT-SGOT of Wistar Rats Diabetes Mellitus Model

Abstract: Dyslipidemia is one of the complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) that can lead to elevated total cholesterol, TG, and LDL. Increased SGOT-SGPT indicates damage of hepatic cells. Black garlic extract (Allium sativum L.), which contains polyphenol, flavonoid, and anthocyanin is thought to improve blood glucose, lipid profile, and SGPT-SGOT in human. This study aimed to observe the effect of black garlic extract on blood glucose, lipid profile, and SGPT-SGOT of Wistar Rats Diabetes Mellitus Model. This study wa… Show more

“…Smartphone applications and their variation features have shown a significant effect on decreasing HbA1c and blood glucose in DM patients. The results of this systematic review found that the implementation of mobile smartphone applications led to a decrease in HbA1c and fasting blood glucose in patients with DM [ 3 ]. Mobile health interventions are evolving research to change behavior among patients with chronic diseases.…”

“…Several etiologies contribute to DM prevalence, including obesity, low physical activity, sugar levels in the body, stress, genetics, and the aging process (elderly). A previous study supported that a higher percentage of DM complications are triggered by obesity (53.6%), low physical activity (50.7%), and higher fasting sugar levels (75.4%) [ 3 ]. Numerous efforts have been implemented to prevent DM complications and maintain blood sugar within the normal range.…”
