“…In investigating possible non-specific neural and muscular effects of Mills manipulation, a study by Rade et al [17] utilized a pre-manipulative stretch for Mills manipulation to measure myoelectric activity in response to changing neural tension in the limb. It was shown that myoelectric activity in certain muscles occurred with this pre-manipulative stretch for Mills manipulation and this activity changed with performance of ipsilateral lateral flexion of the cervical spine; a movement that produces a reduction in tension in the brachial plexus and its more distal nerves.…”
