Effect of conservative treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions in women: An umbrella review

Abstract: Pelvic floor dysfunctions (PFDs) include urinary incontinence (UI), fecal incontinence (FI), pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and some sexual dysfunctions. 1 One of the main consequences of PFDs in women is the alteration of their quality of life, having an impact on women's social, psychological, working, domestic, physical, and sexual lives. 2 PFDs are highly prevalent among women, with 2.6%-28.7% of them suffering from UI, 20%-50% from POP, and 6.9% from BI, becoming a public health problem. 2,3 Given the high p… Show more
