“…Zhao et al (2008) reported that the Tg and thermal decomposition temperature of PMMA nanocomposite were enhanced by 23 and 93°C, respectively, in the presence of octavinyl-polyhedral oligomeric silseoquioxane (OV-POSS). In the study of Wang et al (2011), the addition of PMMA/MCM-41 filler and PPg-MA in PP nanocomposites showed better tensile and impact properties. Quintanilla et al (2006) prepared PP/ MMT nanocomposites with different grafting efficiency of PP-g-MA.…”

“…A widely used IFR system is a mixture of ammonium polyphosphate (APP), pentaerythritol (PER), and melamine (MEL). Synergism has been found between IFR and MCM-41 or SBA-15 in PP composites (PP-IFR) in our previous work [6]. Results show that mesoporous silica MCM-41 and SBA-15 exert the effective synergistic effect found in intumescent flame-retardant systems of PP to obtain good flame retardancy and satisfactory mechanical properties.…”

“…There was not a significant change of the TGA curve at 350-700 C and the Fe 3 O 4 magnetic nanoparticles showed excellent thermally stability with approximately 95% residual mass. The pristine MCM-41 exhibited a weight loss at temperature up to 100 C and at above 150 C due to the release physically surface adsorbed water molecules and the condensation of the silanol groups, respectively [43]. TGA curve of Fe 3 O 4 @MCM-41-SH magnetic nanoparticles revealed two weight loss steps from room temperature to 700 C. The initial weight loss below 100 C is due to the loss of surface hydroxyls and water content in the nanoparticles.…”
