Effect of Grid Spacing on Strength and Stiffness of Grid Wall

Abstract: Recently, wooden grid wall has been used for the purpose of bearing wall and seismic strengthening. Generally, the member spacing of grid wall is small for initial stiffness and strength. On the other hand, the authors propose the wall of rough strength that is expected to avoid brittle fracture and to be sufficient energy absorption performance. This paper figures out effect of grid spacing by experiments and numerical analysis.
