Effect of Humidity on Electrical Conductivity of Graphite Nanocomposite Based Electrodes: A Review

Abstract: We have reviewed recent progress on various types of humidity sensors as it is one of the most significant issues in various areas of sensing appliances such as instrumentation, charge storage automated systems, industries and agriculture. Various effective approaches have been discussed to develop ceramic, semiconducting and polymer based graphite sensors. It was found that graphite based nanocomposite materials have unique potential for detecting humidity due to specific structure, high electrothermal conduc… Show more

“…Exact and long haul RH estimations will empower a quantitative relationship between admissible H 2 S in sewer air and worthy erosion rates ≤0.5 mm/year. Humidity sensors were realized in different forms constituting capacitive [168], resistive [169,170], electrical resonant [171] and mechanical resonant devices [172]. For measuring humidity, sensitive materials range from polymers to porous ceramics, porous silicon and electrolyte have been used.…”

“…In contrast, graphite exhibits remarkable electrical conductivity, a high energy density (implying a high specific capacity), and an exceptionally long cycle life [10]. Some researchers reported the electrical conductivity of graphite depends on the humidity [11] and grain composition [12]. Said characteristics of activated carbon and graphite are expected to be able to promote Bi 2 O 3 ability as a battery anode.…”
