“…The multi-layered graphene film can be continuously grown through stainless steel (SS) and significantly increase its corrosion resistance [ 22 , 29 ]. A number of researchers have confirmed that steel microstructure was also one of the main factors influencing corrosion resistance [ 30 , 31 , 32 , 33 , 34 , 35 , 36 , 37 ]. The graphene layering on SS also maintains good conductivity and active surface area for adsorbing charged particles [ 29 ].…”

“…This led to the full corrosion state within 30 min. Subsequently, the formation of a dense rust layer hampered the contact between acidic solution and substrate, thereby reducing the corrosion process of the micro-area primary cell [13,20,21]. F+P steel formed a complex primary battery in the corrosive environment.…”

“…The microstructure of Q420qNH steel plate, weld zone and heat-affected zone was observed under the optical microscope, the plate microstructure was ferrite + granular bainite + lamellar pearlite, and the weld zone microstructure was composed of a small amount of proeutectoid ferrite + a large amount of acicular ferrite + granular bainite, the microstructure of the heat-affected zone is composed of a large number of granular bainite + lamellar bainite formed in the original austenite grain, Figure 14. There is an obvious potential difference between ferrite and pearlite, pearlite will preferentially corrode, and the corrosion resistance of bainite structure is better than that of ferrite/pearlite mixed structure [32,33]. It can be seen from the metallographic structure that the microstructure distribution of the plate is not uniform, and it is very easy to form a grain-grain boundary corrosion microcell, due to the high defect density at the grain boundary, it is preferentially corroded as anode, forming the phenomenon of "large cathode and small anode", and the local corrosion rate is relatively fast.…”
