Others say that BPA affects the male reproductive system as evidenced by decreases in daily sperm production in mice (Vom Saal et al, 1998), increases in the prostate-weight in mice (Welshons et al, 1999), transient decreases in epithelial cell height of the rat efferent ducts at 3 weeks of age (Fisher et al, 1999), decreases in plasma free testosterone levels and the appearance of multinucleated giant cells in mouse seminiferous tubules (Takao et al, 1999), and the atrophy of rat seminiferous tubules (Takahashi and Oishi, 2001).
