Effect of Premature Luteinizing Hormone Rise on Pregnancy Outcomes in Patients with High Trigger Day Progesterone Levels in GnRH Antagonist In Vitro Fertilization Cycles

Abstract: Turkiye Klinikleri J Gynecol Obst 2017;27(2):49-56 izyolojik olarak, menstrüasyonun foliküler fazında serum progesteron (P) düzeyi düşük olup (<1,5 ng/mL) luteinizan hormon (LH) tetiklenmesinden yaklaşık 24 saat sonra artmaya başlamaktadır.1 IVF sikluslarında ise çok sayıda yumurta gelişimi için yüksek düzeyde gonadotropin uygulanması suprafizyolojik serum hormon düzey-leri oluşturmakta, LH tetiğinin erken gerçekleşme-sine ve P hormonunun beklenenden erken ve normalden yüksek düzeylerde üretilmesine neden o… Show more

“…In the present study and two previous studies (7,8) , no premature luteinization was observed in any patient even though the GnRH antagonist implementation on the day of hCG was stopped. Moreover, the recent studies showed that the increasing level of progesterone did not decrease pregnancy rates (20,21) . For this reason, the results of the present study and those of previous studies suggest that the implementation of GnRH antagonist in stimulation in order to prevent possible negative effects that might develop due to the premature increase of LH deteriorates formation of mature oocyte and the dynamics of embryos’ development.…”
