“…They postulated that this approach may improve the ICSI outcomes 37 . The competency of this technique in selecting spermatozoa with better motility was reinforced again by Naknam et al., who also showed lower rate of sperm DNA fragmentation in selected sperm population 30 . In 2018, Wang et al.…”

“…Once ovulation is induced, due to oocyte‐induced secretion of extra cellular matrix by cumulus cells, the cumulus cells surrounding the oocyte expand and allow spermatozoa with certain characteristics to pass the cumulus cells and penetrate the zona pellucida 18 . One of the most popular novel sperm selection approaches is the ability of spermatozoa to attach to surface‐bounded‐hyaluronic acid, one of the components of the extra cellular matrix 30–32 . Despite studies showing HA has the ability to select spermatozoa with intact DNA, 30–32 based on recent Cochrane study and previous research studies, 33 ‐– 35 it has been stated that there may be little or no difference for pregnancy between HA‐ICSI vs. conventional ICSI, but there is strong evidence for reduced miscarriage rates.…”
