Effect of Transplanting Dates and Spacing on Yield Attributing Character, Productivity and Economics of Potato Cultivation Through True Potato Seed (TPS) Technology

Abstract: A field experiment in split plot design was conducted during the rabi season of 2001-02 and 2002-03 at Potato Research and Seed Multiplication Farm, Anandapur,West Midnapore,West Bengal to study the effect of dates of transplanting and spacing on yield attributing character, productivity and economics of potato cultivation through true potato seed (TPS) technology. The highest number of tubers per plant was recorded in early transplanted (December 3) crop, while, crop spacing did not produce any significant di… Show more

“…The facility was equipped with a bar (7) with spits (3) to catch the falling seed potatoes after treatment. There was also a feed system in the form of a pump, which enabled supply at a pressure up to 800 kPa (4) with an overflow valve within 0-1000 kPa (9) powered by an electric engine (5). The facility had a system generating a continuous stream of compressed air with a valve regulating pressure within 0-800 kPa (10) (marked in black) and a system feeding the working liquid (marked in red).…”
