Joining of high Nb content TiAl (TNM) and Ti2AlNb alloy is a research hotspot in aircraft engines. In the work, the TC1 thin was designed as the intermediate layer for joining TNM with Ti2AlNb alloy and the firm joint of TNM/TC1/Ti2AlNb was obtained by spark plasma diffusion welding. The joint was composed of TNM/TNM impacted zone/TC1 with TNM diffusion reaction zone/TC1 with Ti2AlNb diffusion reaction zone/Ti2AlNb impacted zone/ Ti2AlNb. The TNM impacted zone consists of γ phase matrix and equiaxed α2 phase and Ti2AlNb impacted zone consists of needle-shaped β phase and α matrix phase. The TC1 diffusion reaction zone was composed of α matrix phase and some large equiaxed β phase and the Nb element from Ti2AlNb is the main reason for the formation of large equiaxed β-phase in this zone. The high temperature tensile strength of the joint at 700 ℃ reached 377 MPa, with the main fracture location at TC1 with TNM diffusion reaction zone.
