“…As the results of acid solution used in pickling, cleaning, and descaling may lead to corrosion of steel 5–7 . Therefore, from this standpoint, the researchers in this field have tended to use inhibitors as one of the most effective ways to protect metals from corrosion in various acidic media 8–10 . Organic compounds containing heteroatoms such as (N, O, and S), as well as, Л‐ electrons in their molecular structure are considered effective corrosion inhibitor, which can form a protective layer on the metal surface that prevents corrosion 11–15 .…”

“…There is a significant interest in the development of high-performance anticorrosive coatings that are capable of combining the properties of the nanostructure and the polymeric matrix. Such composite systems based on graphene oxide have been studied and they include polymers such as benzoxazine, polyaniline, polyurea, polyurethane, and epoxy resin, which is the most used and effective polymeric material in the coatings industry [78][79][80][81][82]. Polymeric materials tend to form a high adhesive barrier due to the fact that they can chemically interact by covalent bonding to different substrates.…”

“…15 Research activities have focused on the synthesis and distinctive applications of aniline oligomer-based polymers. Yeh et al reported that electroactive epoxy thermoset (EET) coatings with an amine-capped aniline trimer (ACAT) in the main chain 16 or AP in the side chain 17 exhibit significantly enhanced anticorrosion performance for cold-rolled steel (CRS) electrodes as compared to neat non-electroactive epoxy coatings. The EET has enhanced corrosion resistance due to the electrocatalytic ability of aniline oligomers to form a densely passivated metal oxide layer on the CRS electrode to protect the underlying metal substrate, which was consistent with the results with PANI reported by Wessling.…”
