Effective Model for Analysis of Wood-Framed Timber Structures

Abstract: 1This paper presents new procedure modeling based on finite element method analysis of wood-framed timber structures. The fasteners linking boards of sheathing with the timber frame both modeled applying shell finite element, with individual material parameters, remain the main objective of this manuscript. Material parameters are obtained from experimental tests and numerical identification. The main objective of the paper is the elaboration of the numerical model with high precision of mapping, and, at the s… Show more

“…Several numerical studies dealing with light wood-frame structures have been presented by many authors [23][24][25][26][27][28][29]. Models developed vary in regard to numerical complexity and precision compared to the tested structures and elements considered (walls, diaphragms, full house, etc.)…”

“…Prefabrication ensures better quality of the final product and it controls essential parameters like the precision, fitting and quality of the construction, with limited moisture content in the component building diaphragms and in the modules (Malesza, 2017;Gunduz & Yahy, 2018;Pang & Rosowsky, 2009). This method of construction also makes Figure 1.…”
