“…Wind shear estimation based on the fore‐aft moment should be applicable to real wind turbines where the six assumptions described above are not completely hold due to the following reasons. Tilt and cone angles in realistic values rarely have impact ruining the monotonic increase relation between M y and α even though azimuthal variation of the induced velocity caused by the tilt angle decreases/increases sensitivity of M y to α in upwind/downwind configuration. Constructing a WSEM with V ( z ref ) or substitution correlated with V ( z ref ) (eg, power production and pitch angle) as an input allows the WSEM to handle variable V ( z ref ). The effects of pitch angle and rotational speed on estimation accuracy are limited because they are functions of V ( z ref ). Pitch regulated turbine can avoid stall. Besides, M y monotonically increase with increasing α as long as the lift slope in Equation is positive. Sensitivity of M y to α should be improved by considering the drag force due to monotonic increase relation between local drag force and V though the drag force is at least 10 times smaller than the lift force.…”

“…Such goals can be achieved by adjusting the pitch angle. However, the pitch control strategy for the floating WT may be quite complicated as the pitch system is a complex and fastchanging non-linear dynamic system, which has uncertain and changing system parameters and various disturbances [7]. So far, numerous control strategies have been deemed promising solutions for developing a pitch control system.…”

“…Today as the sizes of wind turbines are increasingly larger with lighter and more slender rotor blade designs (Hoghooghi et al, 2019a;2019b) need to be suited for the integration of load alleviation technologies (Montinari et al, 2018). These advantages may yield substantial cost reductions of wind-generated electricity (Zendehbad et al, 2017b).…”
