Effectiveness Test of Soursop Leaf Extract and Papaya Leaf Extract Combination Against Spodoptera litura on Chili Plants in Tobelo City

Abstract: In terms of control, various natural chemical compounds derived from plants can be used. Like papaya and soursop leaves, the formulation of the problem is whether the combination of soursop leaf extract and papaya leaf extract is effective in controlling S. litura pests and what is the most effective extract concentration. This study used a completely randomized design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Observation variables included symptoms, morphological changes and mortality, the results were anal… Show more

“…Tannins are also repellent to insects so that they can be used as a form of plant defense (Manikome & Handayani, 2020). The lowest mortality percentage was 27.50% with the 30% concentration of mahogany leaf extract vegetable pesticide treatment (Table 2).…”

“…Control of S. litura and gemini virus vectors can use biological control agents such as Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae (Zulfitri et al, 2020). Other controls that can also be applied include using botanical insecticides (Manikome & Handayani, 2019) or by using synthetic insecticides with various active ingredients. Control of the C. capsici pathogen can be done by arranging planting distances so that the spread of the pathogen can be reduced, using biological control agents such as Trichoderma spp.…”
