Effects of a Short Video Physical Activity Program on Physical Fitness Among Physical Education Students

Abstract: The Brain Break (BB) short video program is designed to improve physical activity (PA), motor skills, and fitness in children. In this study, we examined the effects of an 8-week short video-based Brain Break (HOPSports Company) PA program within physical education (PE) lessons on fitness and fitness knowledge among students. We studied 62 fifth-grade students (experimental group = 28; control group = 34) in the Ankara, Turkey school district. The experimental group received PE lessons once per week for eight … Show more

“…One of the possible explanations for the increase in physical fitness in the experimental group could be that after watching and participating in the various HOPSports Brain Breaks ® videos, the learners’ connected the importance and advantages of physical activity with their own PA, which led to an increase in their own PA. In accordance, Bulca et al [ 51 ] concur with this finding that HOPSports Brain Breaks ® contributed to the improvement in physical fitness seen in the experimental group and may have had a good impact on students’ overall PA levels.…”

“…The results show the following: (1) There is no significant difference in the general data of college students, which can be compared statistically. (2) The matching degree of public health level, the intensity of publicity, the standard of investigators, the coherence, and complexity of sports are the main factors affecting the public health level, and the influence is very significant. (3) Universities should strengthen the analysis of the above indicators, formulate corresponding physical fitness programs, and promote college students to carry out physical fitness activities.…”
