“…Both male and female animals were used to examine this relationship, as there are prominent sex differences in age of onset, course of illness, and severity of symptoms in schizophrenia (Gogos et al, 2020 ; Lins et al, 2019 ). In addition, prominent sex‐specific effects have been described in models of MIA (Carney, 2019 ; Gogos et al, 2020 ; Lins et al, 2019 ) and ACE (Borsoi et al, 2019 ; Lee et al, 2014 ; Miladinovic et al, 2020 ; Zamberletti et al, 2012 ), including two‐hit ACE models (Dunn et al, 2020 ).
