Abstract:Soda-lime, borosilicate, and lead glass specimens were exposed to various dosages of 2 m.e.v. electrons. The effects of the irradiation on flexural strength, density, chemical durability, heat of solution, and electrical resistivity were investigated. The results showed that for dosages up to 300 megareps several small effects were noted but were considered to be of minor significance as far as bottle serviceability is concerned.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
