Effects of Hot Deformation Process on the Microstructure and Hardness of AZ80 Magnesium Alloy

Abstract: AZ80 magnesium alloys were deformed at different temperature (270°C, 300°Cand 330°C)with different deformation ratio from 10% to 50%. The influence of varying the deformation temperature and ratio on the microstructure and hardness of AZ80 magnesium alloy was studied. The experimental results show that the hardness increased with the increasing of deformation and the hardness is up to the peak value with 40% deformation at 300°C. The microstructure was homogeneous and the grain was refined after hot deformatio… Show more

“…Considering these previous findings, we sought to further develop the understanding of Ce IV −Cp bonding by employing Cp Me 3 Ce(thf) ( 1 a , Cp Me =C 5 H 4 Me) and Cp′ 3 Ce(thf) ( 1 b , Cp′=C 5 H 4 SiMe 3 ), bearing monosubstituted electron‐poor cyclopentadienyl ligands, as precursors. In addition, the bulky Cp ## 3 Ce ( 1 c , Cp ## =C 5 H 3 ‐2,4‐ t Bu 2 ) and the indenyl derivative (Ind) 3 Ce(thf) ( 1 d , Ind=C 9 H 7 ) were examined. All organocerium(III) precursors were synthesized according to literature procedures ( 1 a , 1 c ) or routine protocols, as summarized in Scheme for CeCl 3 ‐derived compounds.…”

“…Orange indenyl complex 1 d (see Figure S23 in the Supporting Information), which features a sterically more flexible ancillary ligand, was treated with 1,4‐benzoquinone, but only trivalent cerium species were observed in the 1 H NMR spectrum, supposedly the unoxidized coordination species of 1 c with 1,4‐benzoquinone (see Figure S15). A solid‐state structure of the reaction product could not be obtained, because decomposition occurred upon attempts at purification/recrystallization.…”
